How does MLCCG lead a meditation session?

When I was first contacted about coverage for The Mindful Law Coaching & Consulting Group, I admit that I was skeptical. But after learning more about the business model and the perceived need for mindfulness services in the legal community, I became a fan. More importantly, I agreed to take the business on as a client!

With wisdom, humility, and a generous dose of both common sense as well as humor. As we state in another page, we take what we do very seriously, but we try hard not to take ourselves too seriously.Matters of style aside, The Mindful Law Coaching & Consulting Group, LLC (“MLCCG”) offers a six week course (30 minute sessions, once a week), beginning with an introductory discussion of the how, what, when, where and why of meditation, to provide a common baseline of knowledge for all participants.

After ensuring that everyone possesses the same basic understanding, MLCCG will facilitate guided meditation sessions (with no more than ten participants at a sitting), beginning with an exercise commonly referred to as a body scan, then moving on in subsequent weeks to examine thought, emotion, the Sanskrit practice of metta, and finally, self-compassion or self-confidence. All group meditation sessions are aimed at: 1) boosting skills that will benefit lawyers, professionally, and 2) building a foundation for one’s own individual practice, if it is one’s choice to do so.

MLCCG will customize sessions, and facilitate fewer or more than the recommended sessions or recommended participants, if requested. Individual coaching sessions (30 minutes) are also available, upon request.

MLCCG understands that meditation isn’t for everyone, so we just try to lead the proverbial horse to water. It’s entirely up to us, individually, to decide whether we want to “drink”, or not!
